Privacy Policy
Who runs this site
Hextech Analytics is an independent Riftbound fan site written and run by Shadow618. This policy covers hextechanalytics.com, and it describes the information the site and the outside services it relies on collect, why they collect it, and the choices you have.
Reading the site without an account
You can read the guides, Legend pages, Meta Snapshots, and cheat sheets, search the Card Library, and build a deck without signing in, and the site does not ask for your name or email address to do any of that. A deck you build without an account stays in your own browser, as described under browser storage below.
Your account
Signing in is handled by Clerk, an outside service provider. Clerk collects the details you use to create and secure your account, such as your email address, your name, a profile picture, and the sign-in method you pick, and it sets the cookies that keep you signed in. Clerk’s own privacy policy governs what it does with that information.
When you sign in, we keep a copy of a few of those details in our own database so that your saved items stay connected to your account: your Clerk user ID, your email address, and your display name. Your email address is never shown on your public profile.
What you choose to save
- When you save a deck, we store its title, its card list, the dates it was saved and changed, and earlier versions of it so that you can roll back. Decks are public by default, which means anyone with the link can open one, and it might also appear in the deck browser and on your public profile. You can delete a deck you saved from your profile whenever you like.
- We keep a count of how many times each public deck has been viewed, and when a signed-in reader likes a deck we record which account liked it.
- If you use the collection tracker, we store the card quantities you enter.
- If you add a bio, a portrait Legend, a featured deck, or handles for other sites such as X, YouTube, Twitch, or Discord, those details appear on your public profile. Achievements you earn are saved with your account, and you can hide them from your profile in your profile settings.
- If you connect a Piltover Archive account, we store the connection credentials in encrypted form and read your saved decks there only when you open the deck picker. The connection is read only, and you can disconnect it from your profile page at any time.
Usage counts the Deck Builder records
The Deck Builder logs a few milestones so that we can see which parts of it people use, such as choosing a Legend, adding a first card, finishing a zone, saving, sharing, importing, or exporting a deck. Each record holds the name of the event, the version of the builder, a short label such as the name of a deck zone when one applies, the time, and your account ID only if you are signed in.
Export records also hold the export format, whether the export came from the builder or from a saved deck, and the deck’s ID when it has one. These records never include the cards in your deck, your deck titles, your IP address, or details about your browser.
Site analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to learn which pages are visited and how quickly they load. These tools receive the address of the page you open along with performance measurements and general information about your browser and device, and Vercel’s own privacy policy governs how it handles that information.
Limits on heavy requests
The tools that produce print sheets, deck images, and registration sheets limit how often they can be used so that the site stays available for everyone. To do that, the server counts the requests coming from each IP address over a one minute window, and for a few actions such as saving a collection or a profile it counts them by account instead. These counts are held in the server’s temporary memory and are not written to our database.
Information kept in your browser
The site saves a few things in your browser’s storage, which stays on your device. They are your light or dark theme choice, the deck draft you are working on, a saved copy of the card list that helps the Deck Builder open faster, the proxy sheet you are building, the cards you have picked to print, and any Smart Builder draft. You can clear them at any time from your browser settings, although clearing them also removes drafts you have not saved.
Shopping links
The “Buy this deck on TCGplayer” button is an affiliate link. When you select it, TCGplayer opens through a partner link that carries the card list from that deck so that your order can be filled in, and we may earn a commission if you buy. TCGplayer and its partner network might collect information about your visit under their own policies.
Deck analysis
When the deck analysis feature is available, analyzing a deck sends its Legend, its Champion, and its card lists to an outside service provider, which returns the written feedback. The request does not include your name, email address, or account details, and the feedback is saved with the deck so that it does not have to be written again. We also count how many analyses each account requests per day to keep use reasonable.
Services that help run the site
Vercel hosts the site, Neon hosts the database where saved decks, collections, and profiles live, and Clerk handles sign-in. These providers process information on our behalf, and each has its own privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information.
The site does not send marketing email, and the newsletter it once offered has been discontinued. Clerk might email you about your account, for example to confirm a sign-in or a change of email address.
Your choices and requests
You can delete the decks you saved yourself from your profile. To ask what personal information we hold about you, to have something corrected, or to ask for your account information to be deleted, send a message to @shadow618 on X (opens in a new tab) and say what you would like us to do. We might need to confirm that the request really comes from you before we act on it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page. The Terms of Use explain the rules for using the site, and the Contact page explains how to reach us.
