Shadow Isles // Unleashed

Vex

Gloomist · Card draw control · Intermediate

Calm domainCalmSustain
Chaos domainChaosVolatile

Vex draws a card every time you or an ally hold a battlefield, turning defensive play into incremental advantage.

Playstyle

Calm supports the defensive holding pattern while Chaos provides disruptive tools to protect it. Vex wants to establish Holds, then draw through the deck faster than the opponent can break the lock.

What Makes This Legend Different

Gloomist: "When you or an ally hold, you may exhaust me to draw 1."

Vex rewards holding ground; the deck feels best when you establish a battlefield and make the opponent fight uphill to break it.

Strengths

  • Reliable card draw engine
  • Rewards defensive play
  • Good card quality over time

Watch Outs

  • Needs to hold battlefields
  • Can be slow to score
  • Draws need to translate into action

Game Plan

  1. 1Early: establish cards that support the Calm / Chaos identity.
  2. 2Midgame: set up durable turns and preserve key units while using Chaos cards to keep the plan stable.
  3. 3Late: convert the strongest battlefield position into Hold points instead of chasing every fight.

Pick Vex if you like control decks that quietly pull ahead by drawing more cards every turn.

Starter Deck

Vex does not currently have a preconstructed starter deck in the Hextech starter deck library.
