Rumble builds a Mech board that can defend, attack and rebuild through the same units. Hotheaded rewards a conquest, while Bubble Bot and Gem Jammer help turn it into another attack.

Should you play Rumble?

Pick Rumble if you enjoy making a board of modest units work together, then rebuilding through a successful attack. Think twice if you prefer threats that work without another Mech or a movement setup.

Best for: Board-focused players who can plan which unit attacks, which survives to be recycled, and which stays behind to Hold.
Think twice if: You tend to treat readiness as free movement or spend the supporting bodies before checking the next battlefield.

Key Cards

Mechanized Menace gives your Mechs Shield, adding a Might while they defend. Hotheaded supplies Assault while they attack and can turn another friendly unit into a discounted Mech from the trash after conquering. Bubble Bot supplies the readiness to use an established Mech again. Gem Jammer's Ganking is the other half of a second attack: readying something at one battlefield does not let it move directly to the other by itself.

Rumble’s Field Guide

Rumble rewards keeping a useful Mech board instead of treating each unit as a separate attacker. Mechanized Menace gives friendly Mechs Shield, so their Might rises by one while defending. That helps small bodies remain relevant, but it is neither a permanent buff nor protection from direct kill effects. Hotheaded gives the same Mechs Assault and rewards a successful conquest by letting you recycle another friendly unit to replay a Mech from the trash at a reduced Energy cost. The deck wants to win a fight with enough left over to improve the board afterward. An attack that spends every supporting unit may take a point while leaving the next turn much weaker.

How Rumble wins

Establish cheap Mechs, make Production Surge efficient, and use the resulting bodies to contest a field without emptying the hand. Hotheaded increases their attacking Might; Bubble Bot can ready another Mech, and Gem Jammer can give it the route to a different battlefield. A successful conquest can replace a smaller survivor with Forerunner or another useful Mech from the trash. Keep that replacement where it protects the next Hold while the original attacker moves on. The larger non-Mech cards have different jobs: Watcher lowers opposing Might, and Brynhir can stop new opposing card plays for the rest of the turn after his play trigger resolves. Neither is a Mech that Bubble can ready or Hotheaded can recover.

Replace the survivor after the fight

Rumble, Hotheaded · Production Surge · Ferrous Forerunner

Hotheaded's conquest ability recycles another friendly unit and reduces the Energy cost of the recovered Mech by that unit's actual Might. After a combat victory, a surviving three-Might Mech token still has Hotheaded's Assault when the conquest trigger is paid, so it can provide a four-Energy reduction. Forerunner then costs two Energy and a Fury Power. An empty-field conquest without combat does not give the token that attacking bonus. Recycling is not killing: the token disappears, and recycling a Forerunner would not create its Deathknell tokens.

Give the readied unit somewhere to go

Gem Jammer · Bubble Bot · Rumble, Hotheaded

Gem can give Hotheaded Ganking before the first attack. After that fight, Bubble can ready him so he can move directly to the other battlefield. Each play has its own cost: two Energy for Gem and three for Bubble. Bubble cannot ready itself or a non-Mech. If the other field is not a useful attack, leave the strong unit defending rather than spending both cards just to move it away from a Hold.

Let the removal fit the board

Thousand-Tailed Watcher · Bellows Breath · Temporal Breach

Watcher gives enemy units minus three Might for the turn, to a minimum of one. Breath can then finish reduced units at one location, with another Energy and Mind Power required for Repeat. Breach can replay Watcher to apply the reduction again, but it does not make the unit a Mech or grant free Accelerate. Replaying Bubble can instead ready another Mech, and replaying Brynhir can shut off opposing card plays after the trigger resolves. Pick the effect the current field needs; they are not interchangeable ways to get a larger board.

Strengths

Shield and Assault make inexpensive Mechs useful on both sides of combat without paying for a separate buff every turn.
A successful Hotheaded attack can improve the board through the trash instead of requiring the next threat to be in hand.
Readiness and temporary Ganking let established Mechs pressure a second field while the recovered unit holds the first.

Weaknesses

The tribal effects need actual Mechs. A hand of strong non-Mech finishers does not turn on every part of the engine.
Conquest recovery needs another friendly unit to recycle and a useful Mech already in the trash, plus any remaining Energy and Power.
Small Mechs are more fragile outside combat, and spending the surviving bodies on an unnecessary second attack can surrender the next Hold.

Shadow's take

This is my Rumble pick because the cheap Mech package has a clear follow-up. Gem and Bubble let Hotheaded keep attacking, while the three Surges supply another body and replace the card spent. The three Watchers then give the deck a way through defenders that the small Mechs cannot beat on their own. I like having the two Brynhirs for the turn that needs to finish: once the play trigger resolves, the opponent cannot add another card, although their abilities still work. I would not treat the single Warp as the plan every game. Ten Energy and four Mind Power is a serious payment in a deck that also needs to develop and fight. The more natural finish is taking a useful first point, leaving a recovered Mech behind, then using the readiness and Ganking already in the list to threaten the second field.

The Game Plan

Early gameKeep an affordable Mech and a follow-up that uses it. Forecaster gives your Mechs Vision, helping filter later draws rather than drawing extra cards itself. Gem and Porobot both establish a two-Energy body; Porobot is also Gear, but only draws when three other friendly Gear are already present. Surge falls to two Energy and one Mind Power while you control a Mech, makes a three-Might Mech at base and draws a card. That token enters exhausted normally. I would return redundant expensive threats when the rest of the opening cannot put a Mech on the board and contest the first points.
MidgamePlan both the attack and the unit that stays afterward. With Hotheaded and a Mech token already ready at base, Gem can give Hotheaded Ganking. They attack at five and four Might. If both survive a combat conquest, the token's four Might can discount Forerunner from six Energy to two, with its Fury Power still payable. Place Forerunner at a legal controlled field to hold, then Bubble can ready Hotheaded for the next attack. Gem, the discounted Forerunner and Bubble cost seven Energy and a Fury Power in total; the earlier board and trashed Forerunner were separate setup. Do not force the full turn if keeping both original units on the first field is safer. Stupefy, Sword or a well-timed Breach may be the smaller investment that preserves the advantage.
Late gameUse the larger cards to turn the existing board into points. Watcher with Accelerate costs eight Energy and two Mind Power and can attack immediately while reducing the enemy board. Brynhir's play trigger gives the opponent a chance to react before the card restriction takes effect, and it does not stop activated abilities afterward. Perfect Execution readies a unit and grants Assault 3, but still needs a legal movement route; its Flow use costs the same three Energy and Fury Power before it is banished. Bushwhack makes later units enter ready, including a Surge token or recovered Mech, rather than readying units already in play. Keep enough permanent presence for the next Hold, and only commit to Warp when its full payment leaves a board that actually benefits from the additional turn.

Blind

Grove of the God-Willow · Mechanized Menace · Ferrous Forerunner

Grove gives another card when you Hold, which makes the Mechs' defensive Shield useful beyond the combat itself. I would start here with a hand that can build a stable field and use that draw on the following turn. A conquest alone does not draw. Leave a recovered body behind when Hotheaded moves on so the second attack does not erase the reason to choose Grove.

Going First

Trifarian War Camp · Production Surge · Rumble, Hotheaded

War Camp adds one Might to every unit here, so several Mechs can gain more total Might than a single defender. The opponent receives the same bonus. It also changes the actual Might of a unit recycled for Hotheaded, but calculate the donor where it is when the cost is paid. I would choose it when the hand can establish enough bodies to make the shared bonus favorable, not just because Rumble likes combat.

Going Second

Rockfall Path · Gem Jammer · Bubble Bot

Rockfall requires units to arrive by movement instead of being played here. Gem and Bubble can help an established Mech reach the fight, while opposing direct deployments are restricted. The restriction applies to you too: Hotheaded must replay the recovered Mech somewhere else, and Breach cannot replay a unit to Rockfall. I would choose it when movement can carry the recovery rather than when the hand needs to protect this field through repeated unit plays.

Sideboard

Improve the important combat

Against the Odds · Decree of Insight · Convergent Mutation · Cleave

Against the Odds rewards fighting several enemy units at one battlefield. Insight gives an enemy Body unit minus five Might and ignores Deflect while paying, while Mutation can temporarily raise a smaller friendly unit to the Might of a larger one already on your board. Cleave is the cheap attacking option. Bring the tool that changes the actual fight, trimming a slow payoff or removal that has not been useful. Mutation does not copy the larger unit's abilities, and Insight is not a universal answer to every unit under a Body Legend.

Pick the scale of the reset

Brittle Steel · Thermo Beam · Bellows Breath · Unchecked Power

The second Steel is the focused Gear answer; Thermo kills every Gear, including your Porobots and equipment. The extra Breath favors finishing several reduced units at one location. Unchecked Power is the larger battlefield reset, exhausting all friendly units before dealing twelve to every unit at battlefields. Forerunner can leave Mechs at base if it dies, but they normally enter exhausted. I would replace the less effective removal with the reset the opposing board requires, and avoid bringing the expensive sweep when the opening is already too slow.

Give the whole Mech board a route

Breakneck Mech · Rumble, Hotheaded

Breakneck grants your Mechs Deflect and Ganking and enters ready if you already control another Mech. Its eight Energy and two Mind Power are expensive, though Hotheaded can reduce the Energy when recovering it from trash. The two Mind Power still need to be paid. I would consider it when several established Mechs need to threaten different fields, replacing a top-end card whose effect is less useful in that matchup rather than removing the cheap Mechs that support it.
