Fiora turns small units into Mighty fighters, then uses the extra runes to keep developing behind them. The important number is five, but the important decision is how much you can afford to spend getting there.

Should you play Fiora?

Pick Fiora if you want combat tricks that also help pay for your next turn. She rewards knowing when one more Might wins the fight and when another unit is the better investment.

Best for: Midrange players who like a protected attacker, a real late-game follow-up, and several ways to make a modest board difficult to fight.
Think twice if: You dislike managing Power or tend to put every resource into one attacker. Losing that unit can cost much more than the card itself.

Key Cards

Victorious needs only one extra Might to gain Deflect, Ganking, and Shield. Shepherd's Heirloom keeps those keywords on without spending a spell each turn, and its +2 also turns a buffed Sea Monkey or a 3-Might unit into a Mighty fighter. Grand Duelist rewards the actual change from below five to five or more. Making an already-Mighty unit larger does not earn another rune.

Fiora’s Field Guide

Fiora makes the first useful Might increase worth more than the next one. Grand Duelist can exhaust when one of your units goes from below five Might to five or more, channeling an exhausted rune. That means a buff that improves a trade can also help fund later development. The rune cannot give you Energy immediately, but you can recycle it for its domain's Power once the trigger resolves. Decide whether the current fight needs that Power or whether keeping another rune on the board will do more next turn. The Legend has to be ready, and a unit going from five Might to eight was already Mighty. Do not spend another card expecting another channel from the same increase.

How Fiora wins

Establish a fighter the opponent cannot trade into cheaply, then develop a second threat while keeping the first one alive. Victorious uses a lasting Might increase to become a protected attacker that can move between battlefields. Worthy offers a different plan: she can pay Order Power to ready a unit when it becomes Mighty. Those are different reasons to cross the same threshold, not abilities every Fiora list has together. Either way, the extra runes should eventually become another body, a removal spell, or the resources to defend a Hold. If the whole hand goes into making one unit enormous, you have lost the reason to play a deck that can build an advantage across several turns.

Keep Victorious above the line

Fiora, Victorious · Pit Rookie · Shepherd's Heirloom

Pit Rookie can put a buff on an unbuffed Victorious, taking her from four Might to five. She now has Deflect, Ganking, and Shield, making her six Might while defending. Heirloom gives her +2 instead and does not depend on keeping a buff. Neither option makes her immune to removal: Deflect charges the opponent extra Power to choose her. If she loses the only effect keeping her Mighty, she loses the keywords too. Shield cannot keep itself switched on after that buff disappears. Heirloom also needs a separate Equip payment; it is not a combat trick you can attach in response to removal.

Spend the buff on the fight that matters

Call to Glory · Pit Rookie · Sea Monkey

Call to Glory can spend a friendly unit's buff instead of paying its three Energy, then give a unit +3 Might for the turn. The buff can come from a different unit. That lets an early Rookie or Monkey help protect a more important fighter later. If you spend the target's own buff, it loses one Might before receiving three, so the net increase is two. There is also a response window after you pay: a counter still leaves the buff gone. Check whether removing that counter switches off Victorious or exposes a damaged unit before committing to the free spell.

Choose the answer before the chain fills up

Punch First · Riposte · Rampage

Punch First gives +5 Might during an open Showdown, but its Action timing does not let it answer a spell already on the chain. Riposte is the Reaction: it counters a spell and gives your chosen unit Might equal to that spell's printed Energy cost. Budget its two Energy and two Power from Body, Order, or a combination of both before relying on it. Rampage has neither timing keyword. Use it during your own open Main Phase to make a friendly and enemy unit damage each other before the attack. Its optional Body Power adds +2 Might to your unit first. The enemy still hits back, even if stunned, because this is not combat damage. A larger number only helps if the unit survives the exchange.

Strengths

A useful Might increase can win a trade and add a rune, letting the deck improve its board and resources through the same play.
A supported Victorious is difficult to choose cheaply and can threaten either battlefield once ready. The opponent has to account for more than the lane she currently occupies.
The cheap units remain useful later as buff sources, equipment carriers, or extra bodies behind the main attacker. You do not have to draw only expensive cards to keep developing.

Weaknesses

Might boosts need a unit worth protecting. A hand full of tricks and Equipment can look powerful while doing very little against an opponent already scoring.
Punch First and Riposte use significant Power. Recycling every rune to win one exchange can leave the next turn short of Energy despite the Legend's ramp.
Removing the fighter or its Equipment can undo several cards' worth of setup. Spread enough value across the board that one answer does not decide the game.

Shadow's take

This is my Fiora pick because Heirloom makes the small units worth keeping around while the deck builds toward Harnessed Dragon. A buffed Sea Monkey becomes Mighty with the Equipment attached, and First Mate or Kinkou Initiate only needs its +2 to reach five. Those are useful bodies, not just a way to turn on the Legend. Victorious gives the same Heirloom a more threatening home: she keeps her protection and Ganking without needing a fresh combat trick every turn. First Mate can then ready her after a conquest so she can move across to the next fight. I like that the list can stop spending on one attacker and still improve its position. Kinkou replaces itself when the rest of the board has enough Might, Poppy supplies a ready threat and more Equip payments once the opponent is close to winning, and Dragon removes the defender the smaller cards cannot comfortably beat. Call to Glory and Riposte are there to protect that progress. I would not turn every playable trick into an excuse to fight when developing the next unit leaves the opponent with a harder turn.

The Game Plan

Early gameLook for a cheap unit and a practical way to make the next fighter Mighty. A buffed Sea Monkey into Heirloom is one route; Victorious followed by Pit Rookie is another. Victorious is already in the Champion Zone, so the hand needs to support her, not find her. Keep Heirloom with a carrier and send back extra copies if they replace the units you need to contest. Its play trigger gives one XP and equipping spends one XP. After the bearer dies, the Gear survives, but moving it to another unit still needs a new payment. I would not keep multiple Dragons just because the Legend can ramp. Start with a board that earns those runes, and keep enough Body and Order available for the interaction you actually drew.
MidgameUse the lasting Might increase to claim a battlefield, then decide whether the next play should defend it or threaten the other one. Kinkou Initiate draws when your other units total at least five Might; they do not all have to be together or individually Mighty. Rengar can Ambush directly into an enemy-occupied battlefield, while Vi needs a friendly unit there to Ambush. Vi's stun is an attack trigger, not an automatic reward for playing her on defense. Kennen hidden on an earlier turn can join a fight for no base cost, but his stun still needs two Energy. Save that payment if the stun is the reason you hid him. Once a Showdown ends, First Mate can ready Victorious for a Ganking move. Check what you leave behind before sending the unit that was supposed to protect your next Hold across the board.
Late gameHarnessed Dragon is the payoff when a defender needs to die before you move. Keep its eight Energy and two Order Power distinct; a pile of exhausted Body runes will not cover everything. Poppy becomes much faster once the opponent is within three points of winning: her play trigger readies her and gives three XP. That XP can put Heirloom on the unit that needs it now rather than leaving it stranded at base. Sacrifice is useful when a Mighty unit is going to die anyway, giving two cards and an exhausted rune for one Energy, but you kill the unit as the cost. A counter does not bring it back. Near the final point, keep the body if losing it gives the opponent the win. The deck does not need to collect every possible rune before finishing a game it already controls.

Blind

Sunken Temple

Temple is the straightforward choice when the game will involve repeated Mighty conquests. Conquer with at least one Mighty unit here, pay one Energy, and draw a card. Several Mighty attackers do not give several draws from that conquest. Leave the Energy available when the card matters, but do not weaken the attack just to reserve it. The draw comes after you have won the battlefield; it cannot supply the trick needed to get through the defender.

Going First

Grove of the God-Willow

Grove is my choice when the opening can take a battlefield and leave a real defender. The extra card arrives on a Hold, so use the first conquest to establish something the opponent cannot remove cheaply. A supported Victorious gives you that prospect. First Mate may be able to send her elsewhere afterward, but compare the next conquest with keeping Grove's point and draw available. Leaving the battlefield empty to take a less useful fight gives up the reason you chose it.

Going Second

Valley of Idols · Rengar, Trophy Hunter · Kennen, Keeper of Balance

Valley is useful when the retake will involve playing a unit directly into the fight. Rengar's Ambush or a previously hidden Kennen can trigger its optional one-Energy buff. A unit moving here does not. The buff can improve the immediate trade or become Call to Glory's payment later. Budget it alongside Kennen's two-Energy stun rather than assuming both are free. The opponent gets the same option when playing units here, so prefer Temple if their direct-to-battlefield plan is better than yours.

Take the answer out of their hand

Decree of Strength · Sabotage

Bring Decree of Strength when a Mind card is the problem; it can take a Mind unit as well as a spell. Sabotage instead takes a non-unit card of any domain. Both reveal the hand and recycle the chosen card, and neither has Action or Reaction. Use them before committing the expensive attacker or Equip plan. I would start by replacing Salvage when there is no useful Gear target, then trim a slower card if disruption needs to happen before Dragon can matter. Do not cut every combat trick and expect the newly revealed hand to win the fight for you.

Remove the permanent that changes combat

Salvage · Decree of Unity

The extra Salvage is for Equipment or other Gear you need gone, and it draws a card even when you decline the kill. Decree of Unity is the direct answer to an enemy Chaos unit or Gear. Check the target's own domain, not just the Legend's. Salvage is an Action for an open Showdown; Unity has to be used during your own open Main Phase. Start with Hidden Blade when giving the opponent two cards is worse than these narrower answers, or a Rampage when your units cannot survive the mutual damage.

Empty the trash before they reuse it

Forge of the Future

Forge puts a Recruit at base when played, then can be killed to recycle up to four cards from trashes. Use it before the opponent starts replaying the important cards. Its ability is not a Reaction, so it cannot wait until Fizz's chosen spell is already being played. The Recruit leaves you a small body after you spend the Gear. I would replace Hidden Blade when the opponent's repeated play effects matter more than one unit at a battlefield, and consider a second cut among tricks that have not been changing the trades.

Keep a threat after the first one dies

Rift Herald · Harnessed Dragon · Sacrifice

Herald is for games long enough to pay eight Energy and an Order Power. Moving it to a battlefield finds a unit among the top three cards, while its Deathknell can play a unit from hand to base without paying that unit's Energy. The Power still has to be paid: a Dragon follow-up needs two Order Power. Sacrifice can kill Herald to trigger that Deathknell while also drawing two, but bounce or banishment will not give the same result. I would replace Poppy when her catch-up condition is not being reached and durable value matters more than a ready attack. Do not add both Heralds to an opening that was already too slow.

Make the next turn powerful without spending more Power

Onslaught

Onslaught gives +6 Might for four Energy, then offers one more use from the trash for its four-Energy Flow cost before being banished. It is useful when the Body Power needed by repeated Punch Firsts is the limiting resource. Neither use has Action or Reaction, so play it before entering the Showdown. I would try it in a Punch First slot when you can commit the Might in advance; keep Punch First when waiting for the opponent's combat decision is more important.
