Diana wins the fights that looked safe for the opponent. Cheap spells change the trades, Lunari finds more answers, and Hwei turns movement into cards and resources. The hard part is keeping a unit where the next point will be scored.

Key Cards

Lunari rewards entering showdowns with a spare Energy, and Scorn of the Moon can supply that Energy during the showdown. Hwei turns movement into selection and a further benefit based on the discarded card's type. Keep those engines working toward a useful battlefield exchange rather than spending resources for draw alone.

Diana’s Field Guide

Diana wants a unit on the battlefield and enough resources left to make attacking it awkward. The Legend's extra Energy helps once a Showdown starts, but it cannot pay for the unit you need to establish beforehand. It also cannot replace Power. Keep those costs separate when deciding how much to spend on development. Lunari gives you a reason to take repeated fights, provided you can pay for her trigger and keep her alive through them. A hand full of answers still needs something worth defending. Start by finding a playable unit, then work out which spell lets that unit survive the next attack or take the first point.

How Diana wins

Take a battlefield with a unit that makes your spells worth more. Ravenbloom Student grows as your spells resolve, Lunari can find another answer when a Showdown begins, and Hwei can turn a move into a stronger body or more resources. Cheap reductions and bounce then let those units beat a more expensive board without matching it unit for unit. The opponent still gets to replay what you return, so use the time you bought. Leave a defender for the Hold, set up the next conquest, or force them to spend another turn rebuilding at base. Drawing cards and moving Hwei around are only useful if they help you score or deny the next point.

Budget the fight before Lunari shows you a card

Lunari's trigger costs one Energy, paid when you put it on the chain. The Legend can supply that Energy during the Showdown, but then it is not available for your next spell. Predict lets you keep or recycle the top card before revealing it; a unit on top does not become a draw just because you paid. Have the answer you need before entering a fight where losing Lunari would be disastrous. Student rewards the spells that actually resolve. Stupefy gives an enemy -1 Might and eventually gives Student +1 through its trigger, but neither that growth nor the drawn card is available before the spell resolves. A countered spell does not grow Student.

Lower the unit into Gust range

Moonfall · Gust · Stupefy

Moonfall can bring one enemy into a battlefield where you already have a unit, then gives every enemy there -2 Might for the turn. Moving an enemy is optional; use the reduction alone when the right fight is already in front of you. An otherwise unmodified 5-Might unit becomes a legal Gust target at three Might. A 4-Might unit only needs Stupefy first. Let the reduction resolve before playing Gust: you cannot target a unit that is still too large by promising to shrink it later. The opponent can also change its Might or location in response. Moonfall is an Action, so start it during an open Showdown rather than trying to answer a spell already on the chain. Reducing a unit to zero Might is not, by itself, a kill.

Use the right kind of move for Hwei

Hwei, Brooding Painter · Patched Porobot · Ride the Wind · Flash · Retreat

Hwei draws and discards when he moves. Discarding a spell draws another card; discarding a unit gives him +3 Might for the turn; discarding Gear readies up to two runes. Patched Porobot is both a unit and Gear, so it gives you both the Might and the rune ready, not a choice between them. Ride the Wind moves Hwei and readies him, which can set up another move after the Showdown ends. It is an Action, not a response to pending removal. Flash is the Reaction that moves him back to base, but it does not ready an exhausted Hwei. Retreat returns him to hand instead: that is not a move, does not trigger his ability, and leaves you paying five Energy and Mind Power to play him again.

Strengths

The Legend makes a small amount of open Energy go further in a Showdown, especially when one cheap spell changes both the enemy's Might and Student's.
Lunari and Hwei help you find more useful cards while contesting the board, so a defended battlefield can keep producing the next answer.
Bounce, Might reduction, and movement attack different parts of the opponent's plan. You can remove a blocker for the turn without needing to kill it outright.

Weaknesses

The Legend only helps during Showdowns. Expensive development and repeated Power payments can leave you unable to afford the answers your hand appears to have.
Most of the spell package needs a unit to turn the exchange into a point. Losing your last defender can make a hand full of tricks surprisingly unhelpful.
Returning an enemy to hand usually delays it rather than removes it for good. If you spend that time drawing instead of scoring, its next play effect may be your problem again.

Shadow's take

This Diana pick keeps the spell-and-movement plan connected without relying on Stacked Deck. Lunari can turn a showdown into a useful look at the next card, while Traveling Merchant and Hwei make movement improve the hand instead of merely changing positions. I like Fizz here because it gives a spent cheap spell another job; the Energy saving matters, but its Power cost still has to be paid. Moonfall is the card that makes the battlefield arrangement threatening. Pull an enemy into a field where you have units, reduce the enemies there, and use the rest of the hand to win that particular exchange. Watcher provides a larger version of that swing later. I would resist spending every spell to chase the Lunari draw. The point of finding more choices is to have the right answer for the fight, and an expensive hand can still lose if the Legend's one Energy was spent on a draw that left the actual defense unpaid.

The Game Plan

Early gameStart with Student or Merchant and a plan to reach a battlefield. Lunari is available from the Champion Zone, but her showdown trigger needs a payment and does not always find a spell. Keep a mix of development and interaction rather than a hand of answers with no unit to protect.
MidgameUse Moonfall to improve a fight you can finish, and decide whether Scorn's showdown-only Energy is paying for Lunari or the answer itself. Merchant discards before drawing, while Hwei draws before discarding and rewards the discarded type. That difference matters when choosing which unit to move. Fizz can replay a cheap spell, with its Power cost still due.
Late gameWatcher can open a conquest after its Might reduction, but its normal play leaves it exhausted. Keep an existing attacker or budget separately for Accelerate. Vex, Apathetic can slow units played while she is at a battlefield, giving your established position time. If you need a different finisher, the sideboard contains those options; Time Warp and Baron are not part of the main plan.

Defending here can turn the top card into a spell in hand; a non-spell is recycled instead. It complements Lunari’s showdown work but does not guarantee two draws. Hold a unit here because you can defend the position, not because you expect the top of the deck to rescue every fight.

Conquering readies two runes at the end of that turn. This helps a turn that spends resources on development and still wants interaction afterward. The runes must remain on the board; Power paid by recycling a rune cannot be refreshed by Peak.

Going Second

Each spell can give one of its controller’s units here another Might for the turn. A spell-heavy hand can make this field difficult to contest, but the opponent gets the same option. Choose the field when your planned spell sequence improves the actual fight rather than just producing a large number.

Make a spell fight harder to answer

Vex, Cheerless · Last Rites

Cheerless changes spell costs while she is in combat. Last Rites can replay a unit from the trash after its bearer conquers or holds, but you still pay for that unit. These are developed-board tools; do not replace the early bodies with both when you need to survive the opening.

Increase the relevant removal

Eclipse · Crescent Strike · Stupefy

Use Eclipse against a unit whose current Might can be reduced usefully, Crescent against a clustered battlefield, and Stupefy when a cheap draw-and-adjustment spell is enough. Replace an interaction card with poor targets instead of merely increasing the total number of spells.

Change the late scoring plan

Kai'Sa, Evolutionary · Time Warp · Baron Nashor

Evolutionary can reuse a spell after conquest subject to its Energy threshold and remaining Power payment. Warp needs a board worth giving another turn, while Baron is a much larger commitment. Choose a finisher for the game you are actually playing; adding all three would crowd out the movement and defense that get you there.
