What Annie Rewards
Dark Child - Starter · printed ability
“At the end of your turn, ready up to 2 runes.”
Annie is fun because the Legend ability gives you resource recovery; you can spend hard during your turn and still plan around ready runes for the next exchange.
How it plays
The Game Plan
Annie's pressure comes from resource recovery, not just damage. You can commit runes during your turn, then ready two at end step so future Reaction windows and next-turn pressure stay live.
Strengths
- End-step rune readying
- Forgiving resource recovery
- Supports cheap aggressive spells
Watch Outs
- No direct combat text
- Still needs cards worth spending on
- Can run out of hand before runes matter
Turn by Turn
- 1Early: spend runes proactively on pressure, knowing Annie can ready two later.
- 2Midgame: sequence spells so the end-step ready leaves the right domains available for defense or next turn.
- 3Late: use the rune recovery to keep casting threats after other aggro decks would be tapped out.
New to this Legend? Pick Annie if you want an aggressive starter that teaches rune timing without punishing every early spend.

Keep
- Keep the Fury/Chaos rune split while you learn sequencing.
- Keep cheap burn and interaction so Annie can finish damaged units.
Upgrade First
- Add more efficient Fury units that pressure battlefields early.
- Add flexible damage spells that work well with Void Gate-style battlefields.
Try Next
- Test a slightly higher Fury count if your upgrades become more aggressive.
- Try one or two resilient finishers if local games go long.
