Ahri

Ahri's two Champions solve different problems. Inquisitive costs less and reduces one enemy's Might whenever she attacks or defends, so she helps you take a battlefield as well as keep it. Alluring rewards the hold itself with an extra point. Choose Inquisitive when you need help winning the fight; choose Alluring when you can protect a battlefield long enough for the extra points to matter. Blue Sentinel can double Alluring's hold trigger, which makes the choice more than a question of which Champion has the better combat stats.

• Early gameLook for a two-cost unit and a hand that can develop before the expensive cards matter. Student gives you an early attacker that improves when you use your spells; Mouser is the better body once you are defending. Scuttle Crab replaces itself and can take an empty battlefield despite having 0 Might, but do not ask it to win a fight by itself. I would send back a hand built around Watcher, Whiteflame and Vilemaw, even if the late game looks good. Alluring is already available from the Champion Zone; you do not need another expensive promise in the opening hand. Take the first useful battlefield, then decide what it needs to survive. An Armor on Mouser can do more for that position than playing Alluring before you can protect her.
• MidgameBuild the hold around Alluring and Blue Sentinel when you can keep both alive. Mouser's Tank makes the opponent assign lethal combat damage to it before the non-Tank units beside it, and Cloth Armor raises its defending Might to 5. Chakram Dancer is another way to change the fight: Ambush it where you already have a unit and it gives your other units there Shield for the turn. Keep Sona at a battlefield through your end-of-turn trigger so you have runes ready to defend. Before hiding a card, choose the exchange you need. Back Off from hand draws a card, but hiding it gives up that draw for a cheaper Reaction on a later turn. Emperor's Divide can move the units out of a losing Showdown, but sending the last defender home gives up the battlefield. If your next hold wins, an escape that preserves the units but loses the position may not be enough.
• Late gameCount the next hold before spending on another large unit. If Alluring and Sentinel will finish the game, keep the protection that makes the opponent's last attack fail. Otherwise, use Watcher to open a turn in which you can retake a battlefield. Accelerating it costs 8 Energy and 2 Mind Power; a Sentinel hold supplies the Power in your Main Phase, not the Energy. You also have a different use for those resources: normal Watcher followed by Bellows Breath. Watcher's reduction can leave several enemies at 1 Might for Bellows to finish, though you give up having a ready Watcher. Temporal Breach can replay your Watcher for another reduction later; it has no Reaction timing from hand, and replaying it does not automatically ready it. Whiteflame can give an existing ready attacker +8 Might when you need to force a conquest. Vilemaw is the defensive choice when its current Might is higher than the attackers': those smaller enemies deal no combat damage. Watch for a pump spell that changes that comparison rather than assuming Vilemaw ends every fight.
