MAGIC: THE GATHERING

TRANSFER PROTOCOL: ACTIVE

< RETURN

1. The Mana System

Unlike Magic, you do not need to put "Lands" in your deck. In Riftbound, you gain 1 Mana Gem automatically every turn.

  • Unit Mana: Used for playing units. Refills every round.
  • Spell Mana: Unused mana rolls over (up to 3) to be used ONLY for spells. This prevents "Mana Screw."

2. The "Stack" vs. "The Chain"

Riftbound uses a "back-and-forth" priority system. You play a card, I play a card. Attacks happen immediately unless blocked.

Pro Tip: "Burst" spells happen instantly and cannot be responded to (like Split Second in MTG). "Fast" spells go on the stack.

3. Combat

You choose attackers, then your opponent chooses blockers. Damage persists on units (it does not heal at end of turn).
