Spiritforged has been on shelves for just over a week, prices are still volatile, and Bologna is underway as the first major competitive data point for the Western market. If you're watching the market, this weekend matters. Here's what to pay attention to and where the opportunities might be.
How tournament results move prices
This is Riftbound's first Western regional with Spiritforged cards in the format, which means market reactions to Bologna will be bigger than usual because there's no established Western price baseline for competitive Spiritforged staples yet. The Chinese Spiritforged regionals set expectations, but Western markets often price cards differently based on local supply and demand.
The pattern from other TCGs is consistent: cards that show up in winning decklists spike within 24 to 48 hours of results posting. The spike is sharpest for rares and epics that aren't already priced into the meta. Commons and uncommons move less because supply is deeper, but a common that appears as a 3-of in a winning list can still jump noticeably.
The inverse is also true, and cards that people expected to perform well but don't show up in any Top 8 or Top 16 lists will drop. If a hyped Spiritforged rare gets zero representation in Bologna, expect sellers to undercut each other by Monday morning.
Cards to watch this weekend
Draven staples
Draven cards are already at a premium because everyone knows he's the best deck, and the upside on standard Draven staples is limited since the price already reflects his dominance. The real play here is the "Miracle Draven" variant: if Miracle Draven wins Bologna like it won the Winter League, any Spiritforged cards specific to that build that aren't in standard Draven will spike. Watch the winning decklist closely and compare it to the standard list, because the cards that differ are your targets.
Annie and Kai'Sa tech
Both are Tier 1 and expected to be heavily played, and their Spiritforged additions are mostly priced in, but if either legend wins the whole thing or puts multiple copies into the Top 8, the specific tech cards in those lists will move. Annie's Spiritforged cards have more room to grow than Kai'Sa's because Kai'Sa has been popular longer and her prices already reflect it.
Dark horse legends
Rek'Sai and Teemo both placed in the Top 16 at the Winter League, and Sett has been showing up in Chinese Regional results including a pair of finishes at the Nanjing Regional Open. Their cards are cheap right now because nobody expects them to win a 1,600-player event, but if one of them makes the Top 8 at Bologna, you'll see the fastest spike of the weekend as supply at current prices is thin and demand will appear overnight. Sett seems the most likely based on that Chinese data, so if you want a speculative buy, Sett staples at current prices have a favorable risk/reward.
Promo and exclusive card values
Bologna will generate several exclusive cards that can't be pulled from packs, and the scarcity on some of them is worth understanding before they hit the secondary market.
The Blade of the Ruined King (Alt Art) goes to the champion only, which means there will be exactly one copy in existence. That makes it the most expensive Riftbound card from the event by a wide margin, similar to how other TCGs price championship-exclusive prizes, and it should list at a premium and hold value because the scarcity is real.
The Blade of the Ruined King (standard) goes to all Top 8 finishers, so eight copies total. That is still scarce enough to carry a meaningful premium, and these usually appear on the secondary market within a week of the event.
The Boneshiver participation promo goes to all Main Event competitors, so roughly 1,600 copies will be in circulation, making it the accessible collectible from the event. Prices will likely start moderate and settle downward as people who don't care about holding it list their copies.
Plated Legends from the prize wall are also worth watching because these premium versions are popular with collectors and tend to hold value since you can only get them at official events, which is exactly why side event grinders are specifically targeting them.
Timing your moves
Right now (during Bologna): Watch the official livestream and X for real-time results. The smart money moves before decklists are officially posted. If you see three Sett players on the Day 2 broadcast, the cards are already going up. Buy before the formal decklist article drops.
After Bologna (Monday through Wednesday): This is when the full decklists hit sites like riftdecks.com and runesandrift.com. Expect a second wave of price movement as casual players see the results and buy into the winning strategies, and this wave is smaller than the live-event spike but tends to last longer.
The trap: Don't chase cards that already spiked. If Draven wins and his staples jump 40% by Sunday night, you already missed the window. Wait for the next event (Vegas, February 27) and look for the next opportunity instead.
Supply context
Spiritforged released on February 13th. Supply is currently at its highest point for this set. Booster boxes are available at retail, Target is stocking packs (people are pulling Overnumber Vayne and alt art Draven from retail packs right now), and online vendors have inventory. Prices will generally trend down over the next few weeks as more product enters the market, unless a specific card gets heavy competitive demand that outpaces supply.
The exception is the Overnumber Showcase cards. Spiritforged has 30 Overnumbered cards with 12 Signature variants. These are the chase cards and their prices depend more on collector demand than competitive play. SportsCardInvestor currently tracks Lucian Purifier (Overnumber Showcase) and Vayne Hunter (Overnumber Showcase) as top trending. Bologna results won't move these much unless one of the Overnumber cards turns out to be a competitive staple too.
For European buyers: CardMarket is the primary marketplace, and MagicalMeta.ink is working on CardMarket integration. Until that launches, you'll need to check CardMarket directly for European pricing. TCGPlayer prices (which most tracking sites use) reflect the US market and may not match what you're seeing locally.
The Lunar Revel Kit
Riot opened the purchase drawing for the Lunar Revel Kit on February 17th. Winners will be notified between February 23 and 25, right after Bologna wraps, and they will have a 24-hour window to complete their purchase. The timing is not accidental: if Bologna drives excitement for the game (and it will), the Lunar Revel Kit will sell fast. If you entered the drawing, set a reminder to check your email that week. These bundles tend to sell out quickly and have historically held value above retail in the secondary market.

PriceCharting.com pulls from eBay sold listings, which makes it more useful for graded cards and higher-end pieces than for competitive singles.

Bologna is the first real stress test for Spiritforged prices in the Western market, and whatever happens this weekend will set the tone for the next few weeks of trading. The players who pay attention to decklists as they come in and move before Monday morning are the ones who will come out ahead, while everyone else will be chasing prices that already moved.
